Fiery Courtesan

Talaja is a young viera born and raised on the island of Thavnair. His family trace roots back to Dalmascan tribes, but his parents have always lived away from the Wood. Escaping from his rather large, but loving family, Talaja rejected his life on the farm for the frivolities and granduer of the city. He now takes his talents as a dancer and performer from place to place. He does not seem to lack in adoring fans, and often finds himself sharing their beds as well.

Appearance

Talaja is a lean but athletic viera. While petite with a delicate face, it is easy to see that years of honing his craft as a dancer formed a toned and fit body with plenty of flexibility. His skin is deeply tanned with golden and ruddy undertones. He often accentuates his dark, wine-colored eyes with a soft cream-tinted paint. Talaja's hair is silky with a slight wave, naturally a pale blonde. It is rare to see him without some form of gold jewelry or adornments and his wardrobe is full of sheer silks and glittery fabrics.

Personality

At first impression, Talaja can be seen as rather self-centered and vain. He relies on his looks to get most everything he wants, and therefore has issues with conversation that does not eventually lead into someone's bed. Talaja, however, can also be an extremely determined person. He left his life and family behind to pursue his desires and is a man with little he would call a regret.

Talaja lives in the moment. He does not put much stock in the past, nor does he like to think on the future. He is extremely open with his affections, and with sex, but has refused a proper relationship with someone, friend or otherwise, time and time again. He is an extremely good actor, and not many can pick up on the fact there's much more hidden behind the flutter of lashes and the teasing smiles.

Hooks

  • Near Eastern: The Dakels are a humble Hannish farming family, but natives of Radz-at-Han may know the name or one of Talaja's many siblings. While Talaja himself does not spend much time in the islands anymore, he would like to think he is someone that is rather hard to forget.

  • Ul'dahn Resident: People who live or frequent Ul'dah have likely seen one of Talaja's performances. He also has worked for several pillow houses over the years. Former customer? Admirer? Fellow courtesan?

  • Performing Artist: Talaja's main income stems from performing on streets or various venues for coin. He'd very likely associate with fellow performers, musicians, or patrons.

  • Jakar Dakel: Talaja's father can be a bit of a joker. He's rather easy-going and loves his family dearly, and his wife, if their eleven children are any proof. While his relationship with his father is a good one, Talaja still chose to leave to pursue his own goals instead of staying on the family farm. His father supported the decision and is proud of him, though more often than not Talaja does not believe it.

  • Tihra Dakel: Talaja's mother is a quiet yet commanding individual. He remembers her always being a gentle woman with a soft voice, but with a fierceness that could not be denied. His father often talked on how he swept in and stole his mother from the Wood, but she seems to have come rather willingly. Talaja can tell his mother worries for him being so far from home. But she has never openly disavowed his life choices.

  • Many Siblings: Talaja comes from a family of eleven children. He is the true definition of a middle child with five older siblings and five younger. His siblings are, in order of eldest to youngest: his sister Lani, a chef living in Radz-at-Han with two children of her own (10 years older), his brother Ishir, set to take over the family farm (9 years older), his sister Tuhla, the family gossip and a dress-maker (6 years older), his sister Juno, a quiet girl who helps around the farm (4 years older), his brother Arav, a talented alchemist living in the city (2 years older), his twin sisters Sana and Zaina, both of which help their mother sell their products in a small stall in the city (5 years younger), Ehja, enjoys picking fights and causing trouble (10 years younger), Prisha, enjoys fine things already and seems to admire Talaja (15 years younger), and finally Seher, an unplanned blessing (23 years younger).

  • Cashel Blacke: A man from Talaja's past that he no longer speaks of. He has done everything in his power to avoid coming into contact with Cashel again, despite there once being something rather deep between them.

Hey, I'm Hithren, and I've been doing this RP thing for about fifteen years, about four of them being in FFXIV. Below is some stuff you might want to know about me before engaging to make it easier on the both of us.

Disclaimer

As a general disclaimer: I suffer from major anxiety. If I do not answer or engage with you right away, please do not be offended. Sometimes I freeze up, or get discouraged.

I do not engage in ERP unless it is with close friends who I have gotten to know OOCly, and my characters have formed bonds with ICly. If you're looking for someone to satisfy such things, I'm likely not the roleplay partner for you. Don't get me wrong, I love ships and romance, but I do prefer organic development above all else.

I am not a multi-verse/AU roleplayer.

I prefer my roleplay to be lore-compliant ( within reason, we all bend a bit here and there), story/plot-driven, and mature-themed.

Accessibility

I am located in the PDT/PST timezone. At the moment I have a fluctuating schedule, so I prefer setting things up in advance rather than walk-ups. My main cast of characters are located on the Balmung server, and I do have some alts on Mateus and Goblin. I am more than happy to accommodate others via the World Visit system, however.

I predominantly roleplay in-game, and prefer this method over all others. I am open to Discord RP if that is the only way we can work something out, but I will warn in advance, I do tend to be slow to reply.
